The AGO – Art Gallery of Ontario – recently celebrated Street Art and the artists who create it.
One of the installations – for the evening event – an invitation to create a mural on one of the gallery walls. Everyone who wanted to could add something to the mural. There were giant buckets of glue and house-paint sized brushes and magazines and scrap paper galore with which to add your bit or have your say.
Above, a small segment of the wall…created by a group of strangers of all ages and walks of life, each adding their own flavour and personality to the creation! And, just like street art, the wall was to be reclaimed the next day by its owners. Just like street art, here today, gone tomorrow.
Kudos to the AGO for creating such a wonderful, interactive and celebratory event!
