This is it. The last day of winter, or so says the calendar. We’ll see if Mother Nature agrees!
To honour the beauty of winter, here is a shot taken late last week on my way home from the country.
The sky was beyond blue. And, the barn and shed were really that red. I love the subtle shades of winter, too, but this was pretty irresistible, and a nice, bright note to end on…
But, oh-so-ready for spring!
One empty life guard chair
A thin line of water
A large grey sky
An endless beach covered in snow
Add it all up, and what do you get?
One very happy dog, who leapt through the snow like one of Santa’s reindeer! Joy, in the shape of one delighted dog!
(There was also one very happy photographer, too!)
Lavender branches surrounded the sweet Buddha statue in a small corner of the garden. Leaves had fallen, of course, and the weather was kind of grey, and damp, as it so often is, here, on the shores of Lake Ontario, this time of year. It was, most definitely, still autumn.
And, then, last night, the snows came…
The peace of the garden remains, but the season of it has truly changed.
Apologies for being away for so long. I have had a continuing Internet challenge which is still not quite resolved. I am considering this pause in blogging as a gift of sorts from Old Saint Nick! How else to proceed? 🙂
Hoping, that wherever you may be for the holidays, you are having a wonderful, peaceful, joyful time.
Wishing you all the blessings of the season.
